Having grown up in the San Francisco Bay Area I should be used to fog, but this is not that same kind of 'fog' nor was I prepared for it! This project makes sense in 'black and white' at first but someohow getting into it, it got confusing.
A lot happened my first stage/week in this project. For the first time in 5 years I'm able to see the world clearly--I finally got the proper attention/care for the eye disease that I was diagnosed with about 6 years ago! Which is a good point to this process as a whole that I personally am on! At times I need to be nudged to move forward but even though I'm nudged, it requires action on my part to make that move. No one can move someone where they don't want to go--or even if they do, they can move right back to where they were. This particular 'nudge' came from the DMV in the form of a Driver's License renewal notice that I had to go into the DMV for. Well, news flash--you won't pass the vision test without fixing your eyes! So there you go--nudged but took action on my own.
I find that this pertains to the Action Research Method project that I (and the rest of my group memebers) are about to embark on because we are looking at what it takes to be 'successful' in taking the first (and continued) steps toward/on your own healthy lifestyle journey. I choose to look at the mental aspect because I feel that there is a lot of importance but little attention made to this necessary aspect of the journey. All too often we choose to focus on the eating and exercising but not on what is mentally/emotionally/spiritually necessary to find and continue to find success on this journey.
So in my next post I will intro you to what the Action Research Method is and the group participants who will be researching this inquiry.
Until then...
Healthy Living!
